Brand development for a mental health startup
I co-founded Grove with Fletcher Easton, Tim Newman, and Maxwell Taylor to address the fragmentation in the mental health field that makes it difficult for providers to communicate and deliver the best possible care. Our platform brings mental healthcare providers together in a secure, professional space and connects them to client sources, such as hospitals.

Grove’s brand balances the technology aspect of a software startup with the warm, inviting nature of mental health professionals in a fun and accessible way (with plenty of plant puns).
The sentiment of community, support, and success that accompanies the word “Grove” makes it the perfect foundation for a welcoming and compassionate brand.
Truly connected mental healthcare means that everyone has access to the tools they need to do their jobs. For Grove, accessibility was a consideration from the very beginning—from a color palette featuring a variety of WCAG 2.1 AA compliant combinations to a web app that can be used entirely with a screen reader.
A combination of imagery, including patterns, illustration, photography, and collage, visually expresses Grove’s mission to foster collaboration in the mental health industry.
